There is SO much talk about self-confidence in today's world and while self-confidence is undoubtedly crucial, it often overshadows an equally, if not more, important trait: self-worth. Self-worth is the foundation for self-confidence, without it, self-confidence can become a fragile facade.


Let's Define Self-Confidence and Self-Worth

Self-confidence is the belief in one's abilities and skills. It’s the assurance that you can handle specific tasks, face challenges, and succeed in various endeavors. It manifests in our actions, speech, and overall demeanor. A self-confident person often appears assertive, poised, and ready to take on the world.


Self-worth, on the other hand, is the recognition and appreciation of one’s intrinsic value as a human being. It’s an inner sense of being worthy and deserving of love, respect, and happiness, independent of external achievements. Self-worth is about valuing yourself for who you are, not just for what you can do.


The Connection Between Self-Confidence and Self-Worth

While self-confidence and self-worth are interrelated, they are not the same. Self-confidence can be situational and vary across different areas of life.
